The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced on May 6 that it has awarded $16,644,000 to the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality through the Clean Water State Revolving Fund.
The funding will support planning, design, and construction of water quality improvement projects throughout North Dakota. The EPA said these grants are part of three separate capitalization grants under the Clean Water State Revolving Fund program.
Senator Kevin Cramer serves on the Senate committees for Environment and Public Works, Veterans’ Affairs, and Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, according to the official website. Cramer assists North Dakotans with federal agencies to resolve issues and provide information; he also served three terms as North Dakota’s at-large representative in the U.S. House before joining the Senate; he grew up in Kindred, North Dakota; earned a bachelor’s degree from Concordia College and a master’s degree in management from the University of Mary; and together with his wife Kris raised five children and have eight grandchildren—all according to the official website.
The Clean Water State Revolving Fund is a longstanding program aimed at improving water infrastructure by providing financial assistance for projects that protect or restore water quality.
