Senator Kevin Cramer, a Republican representing North Dakota, made several statements on September 19, 2025, via his official X (formerly Twitter) account regarding key appointments and legislative developments.

In an endorsement posted at 18:06 UTC, Senator Cramer expressed support for Mike Waltz as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations. He wrote, "Mike Waltz is highly qualified and a true American patriot. As U.S. Ambassador to the U.N., Mike will represent Peace Through Strength and our America First principles with honor."

Later that evening at 20:45 UTC, Senator Cramer addressed legislative activity in the Senate concerning government funding. He stated, "My statement on Senate Democrats blocking a clean, short-term government funding plan " The comment follows ongoing partisan disagreements in Congress over temporary funding measures to avert a government shutdown.

At 21:00 UTC on the same day, Senator Cramer endorsed Sean McMaster for Administrator of the Federal Highway Administration. In his post he said, "Sean McMaster is exactly who we need as @USDOTFHWA Administrator. He knows what it takes to build and maintain our infrastructure and he’s going to be a great partner as we craft the next Highway Bill."

Senator Kevin Cramer has served North Dakota in the U.S. Senate since 2019 and sits on committees relevant to infrastructure and appropriations decisions.

Congress frequently faces deadlines for passing short-term spending bills—known as continuing resolutions—to keep federal agencies funded while longer-term negotiations continue. Disagreements between parties can lead to threats of government shutdowns if consensus is not reached.

The Federal Highway Administration oversees national policy related to highways and bridges; its administrator plays a significant role in implementing federal transportation legislation such as highway bills passed by Congress.
