The U.S. Department of Education has allocated nearly $1.4 million to three colleges in North Dakota to support Indian education and professional development programs. The funds, totaling $1,397,350, are part of the Indian Education Professional Development Grants program.

According to the Department of Education, this initiative aims to train Native students for roles as teachers and administrators and supports students at tribal colleges and universities who plan to work in native communities.

The funding will be distributed among three institutions: the University of Mary will receive $500,000; Sitting Bull College will get $472,340; and Turtle Mountain College is set to receive $425,010.
