EPA provides over $1.3 million for environmental projects in North Dakota

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has allocated more than $1.3 million in funding to support environmental programs in North Dakota and among the Three Affiliated Tribes.

According to the EPA, the North Dakota Department of Agriculture will receive $517,810. This funding is intended for statewide efforts to develop and maintain a comprehensive pesticide program, which will address enforcement, initiatives, and implementation related to pesticides.

Additionally, the North Dakota Department of Environmental Quality has been awarded $498,083. The funds are designated for developing and implementing a coal combustion residual program that meets EPA approval standards.

The Three Affiliated Tribes are set to receive $317,957. This grant will support tribal environmental programs focused on air, water, land, data quality, pollution prevention, brownfields management, and chemical safety.
