Energy efficiency in new buildings has made major strides through the International Energy Conservation Code (IECC). However, the code has resulted in several undesirable consequences. A research study from Fire Protection Research Foundation and sponsored by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development evaluated different wall assemblies of attached housing projects.
