The North Dakota Department of Commerce announced today that Gov. Doug Burgum appointed three individuals to serve on the Economic Development Foundation.
The Economic Development Foundation is a private sector advisory group charged by the North Dakota Legislature to advise the governor and Commerce on strategies to improve the state’s competitiveness and economic growth.
Members of the foundation consist of business leaders from across the state who establish updates on the state’s economic development strategic plan. The foundation meets quarterly to monitor progress toward economic development goals, discuss major business and economic issues, and to offer suggestions for improving North Dakota’s business climate.
“We are grateful to have three new individuals represent the Economic Development Foundation,” Commerce Commissioner Josh Teigen said. “The newly appointed members have a variety of professional backgrounds and expertise that will provide much value for the state’s economic development advancements.
Appointed members:
Kevin Miller, the founder of ITCB Consulting and author of Finding Ways to Win: Mastering the Success Potential Formula. Miller has diverse expertise with nearly 30 years of management experience in a variety of fields including construction, engineering, regional and national sales, and serving as a general manager. He has brought about growth factors of 60%, 200%, 300%, and 500% in diverse industries and each in less than five years. As manager of the overseas liaison team for Bobcat, he created Bobcat’s initial acquisition and due diligence guidelines. Miller specializes in strategic planning and management consulting with leadership and boards as well as training in management, leadership, and sales.
Lindsey Narum, an implementation project manager for National Information Solutions Cooperative (NISC). In addition to her career at NISC, she also takes up small marketing and photography projects. Narum earned a marketing degree from North Dakota State University.
Thomas Stromme, the assistant vice president business banker at First International Bank and Trust in Fargo. Stromme earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Mary, with a certification from the Harold Schafer Leadership School. He is also a graduate of the North Dakota Bankers Association Dakota School of Banking, the Iacocca Institute‘s Global Village for Future Leaders in Business and Industry, and the Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo Chamber of Commerce Leadership Program. Stromme currently serves on the Board of Directors for North Dakota Dollars for Scholars and has previously served on the Fargo Forum Reader’s Board and the Independent Community Banks of North Dakota.
