The 2023 construction season is under way in Minot, with several projects starting in various locations.
A water main replacement project began May 8 on 7th Avenue NW, between 8th Street NW and 14th Street NW. This project will replace aging water lines in the area, and has an anticipated completion date of mid-August.
Burdick Expressway East was already a busy place, with work being done on the Burdick Viaduct. For the next couple of weeks, traffic will be head-to-head as crews complete asphalt patching in the outside two lanes of Burdick Expressway East between 16th Street SE and 27th Street SE.
As part of the ongoing work on Phase 5 of the Mouse River Enhanced Flood Protection project, 4th Avenue NE is temporarily closed between 7th Street NE and 27th Street NE. The work in this area is expected to be completed by July 1. Drivers can still reach Lowe’s Garden Center via 27th Street SE/NE and then heading west on 4th Avenue NE.
Work continues on the new retaining wall near the Minot Police Department. The project began in 2022, and is expected to be finished mid-summer.
