The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has allocated $4,487,203 to support various airport improvement projects across North Dakota. This funding is part of the Airport Improvement Program (AIP), which aims to enhance safety and maintain infrastructure at airports nationwide.
The City of Williston will receive $1,024,246 for replacing existing snow removal equipment, including multi-tasking equipment. Minot will be granted $602,865 to realign Taxiway B by eight degrees for safety enhancement and to reconstruct Runway 8/26 lighting. Additionally, 6,348 feet of Runway 8/26 will be rehabilitated to maintain structural integrity and minimize debris.
The Standing Rock Sioux Tribe is set to receive $600,000 for rehabilitating 3,700 feet of Runway 14/32. Washburn Municipal Airport Authority will get $355,084 to extend Taxiway A by 300 feet in order to meet current standards.
Cando Municipal Airport Authority will use its $300,000 grant for resealing 3,500 feet of Runway 16/34 pavement and joints. Bowman County Airport Authority is awarded $287,375 to update the airport layout plan with a master plan narrative.
Stanley Municipal Airport Authority will expand the West Apron with an additional 1,632 square yards using their $285,044 grant. Oakes Municipal Airport Authority receives $275,000 for extensive resealing work on various pavements.
Jamestown Regional Airport Authority's allocation of $208,500 will fund resealing projects on several taxiways and runways. Rugby Municipal Airport Authority gets $200,000 for similar pavement maintenance efforts.
Rolla Municipal Airport Authority's grant of $151,489 will cover replacements and reconstructions related to wind cones and lighting systems. Barnes County Municipal Airport Authority receives $99,750 for designing a resealing project for apron pavements.
Lastly, Northwood Municipal Airport Authority is granted $97,850 for phase one design work on a new hangar intended for aircraft storage and maintenance.
These grants are part of the FAA's ongoing commitment through the AIP to ensure airports remain safe and operationally efficient.
