The U.S. Department of Defense has increased its contract with General Dynamics by $17.5 million for a project that supports the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA). The total value of the contract now stands at $1,148,297,413. Work on the project will take place in Grand Forks, North Dakota; Scottsdale, Arizona; and Huntsville, Alabama. The completion date is expected in the second quarter of Fiscal Year 2027.
As part of this modification, $8,750,000 from Fiscal Year 2025 research, development, testing, and evaluation funds are being obligated immediately. The Space Development Agency is managing the contract. Grand Forks Air Force Base serves as the location for SDA’s ground-based Operations Center North, which controls PWSA satellites.
“With Grand Forks’ vital warfighting and ground-based capabilities, North Dakota is harnessing innovation and bolstering its national defense presence,” said Senator Kevin Cramer. “This contract modification will significantly invest in Grand Forks and support the brave men and women as they execute these missions to ensure our warfighters have the capabilities they need as quickly as possible.”
