The U.S. Department of Education has allocated more than $950,000 to educational institutions in North Dakota. The funding will be distributed among schools and colleges to support programs aimed at Native American students.

Two schools will receive a combined total of $658,478 through the Demonstration Grants for Indian Children Program. This initiative supports efforts to develop and evaluate services that seek to enhance educational opportunities and achievement for Native American children across preschool, elementary, and secondary education levels. Turtle Mountain is set to receive $364,016, while the Devils Lake Public School District will be granted $294,462.

In addition, the University of North Dakota will obtain $298,028 under the Indian Education Professional Development Grant. This grant focuses on training Native students for careers as teachers and administrators and encourages them to serve within their communities.
